Carl Hjelte is a Swedish photographer who after studies in French and Philosophy at the University of Stockholm Sweden, began a life dedicated to travel and photography. After two years in New York where he studied at the International Center of Photography,  he has travelled extensively either on assignment or on personal projects. His curiosity and hungry eye, with an innate feeling for composition and form has led to many prestigious commissions and he is constantly working with his own photographic projects and fine art works.

He has been awarded with grants from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, the Swedish Institute and the Stockholm City Arts fund and he has been nominated for the Swedish book art prize.
