Johan Willner
Johan Willner (1971) is working with various photographic methods, allowing the concept to determine the technique. The concepts often revolve around the idea of memories or landscapes changed by human interference. He holds an MFA from The University College of Arts, Craft and Design in Stockholm, and has also studied at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York.
Willner has published two books: Wind Upon the Face of Waters (Kerber/Skreid 2016) where the theme is faith and religion and Boy Stories (Hatje Cantz 2012). The latter highlights childhood memory from a psychoanalytic perspective. Currently living and working in Stockholm. Willner exhibits his work on a regular basis. His work is represented at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm and at the Luma Foundation in Arles, among others.
