Pieter ten Hoopen
Pieter ten Hoopen (1974) Netherlands, is an experienced and internationally acclaimed photographer and filmmaker based in Stockholm, Sweden. He is working in a documentary tradition, but through subjective, emotional and atmospheric imagery, where his depictions also become an artistic narrative. Transitioning between editorial work, personal projects and commercial assignments, he has a wide range of returning customers as The New Yorker, New York Times Magazine, Le Monde and Plan International.
Ten Hoopen was the first Swedish photographer to be selected for the World Press Photo master class. In 2008, he became a full member of the Paris-based agency Vu. Over the last years, he has earned a reputation as a highly respected teacher, and he gives lectures at different photojournalism institutes and universities all over the world. Pieter ten Hoopen has exhibited at Fotografiska in Stockholm, Arles in France, and at the Värmland Museum, among other places
